Theodore Cantrell grew up in Boston, MA. He attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University, where he received his Bachelors in Fine Arts. He went on to attend New York University where he received a Masters in Studio Art and studied in Venice, Italy.

Over the years, he has exhibited his work extensively, both in the United States and abroad. Most recently his work has been exhibited in China, Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam, The Philippines, throughout Europe, England, Ireland, Bosnia, Israel, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and at the Davis Station, Antarctica.

In China, Theodore’s work is represented by the Hanmo Arts Gallery, which is located in the 798 Art Area of Beijing, China, and the Lamorong Gallery, Huhhot, Inner Mongolia, China. In Boston, he works out of his studio in the Fort Point Art District, and in Beijing, he maintains a working art studio near the 798 Art Area.

His work is featured in many private and public collections.
